ET actively addresses forms of injustice through creative youth development, spatial reclamation projects, public outreach, and paid opportunities for BIPOC creatives.

Full-Time | $60,000 - $70,000

As Development Strategist reporting to the Executive Director, you will use your fundraising and marketing experience to support the growth of ET’s growing budget, serving as a trusted fundraising advisor and strategist. This position aims to provide fundraising leadership and implementation including grant prospecting, writing, reporting; donor engagement, tracking, and management; and related fundraising activities. The successful candidate is highly organized, responsive to change, can work well independently and collaboratively, and is highly committed to social justice and creating equitable opportunities. This position works Monday - Friday, 35 hrs/wk. Evenings and weekends may be required.

In this role, you will:

  • Articulate a strong case for support of the organization in different forms (written, oral).

  • Support the Executive Director in donor cultivation and engagement.

  • Research and prioritize foundation, corporate, and government grant opportunities while supporting ET’s existing grant cycle.

  • Develop systems and procedures for data and deadline management for all fundraising activities.

  • Manage grant and gift processing including recording incoming revenue and preparing timely acknowledgements.

  • Contribute to regular reporting with the Executive Director.

  • Support organizational-wide special events: including annual Kickback, Festival.

  • Contribute to and expand an individual, community donor base, and major gifts program.

  • Work closely with ET departments to understand programming, supporting the team in collecting outcomes and measures to report on impact.

For this role, you will need:

  • At least three years of experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility across a variety of development-related disciplines with an emphasis on technical writing

  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including effectively representing the organization’s value in conversation with donors and the general public through face-to-face interactions individually and as a part of a team.

  • Strong project management skills including the ability to monitor progress against a work plan and to manage and motivate multiple project participants.

  • An understanding on how to create and read financial reports in order to produce budgets for grant applications.

  • Strong computer and technology skills in the MS Office Suite/Google Office and Donor Management/CRM systems (Little Green Light).

  • Experience and interest in working with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
