Alex J. Brien is a mural artist, art educator, and designer with over a decade of experience shaping public-facing creative work. As Co-Founder and Art Director of Elevated Thought, he helps guide the organization’s artistic direction, overseeing large-scale public art initiatives, collaborative design work, and creative programming.

With a deep family history in Lawrence, Alex’s practice is grounded in place-making and the amplification of local creative talent. His work is guided by the belief that public art can create meaningful points of connection, bridging generations, elevating underrepresented voices, and inviting communities to collectively imagine creative solutions for social change and human flourishing through art.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and Letterform from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
