MICHELLE COLLADO
Michelle Collado is first generation Dominican-descent multidisciplinary artist who specializes in oil painting and also makes work as a filmmaker, photographer and animator. She received her BFA at the Rhode Island School of Design and currently works as Media Producer at Elevated Thought. In her works she documents the lives of marginalized people as a means to archive their stories and immortalize them. She combines her passion for film and painting with social justice, creating work that speaks not only to forgotten histories and systems of inequality, but seeks to imagine something outside of the overwhelming reality of struggle, oppression and pain.
