Nicole Garcia is a visual arts teaching artist who has been involved with Elevated Thought in various capacities, including supporting organizational projects as a former collaborating artist and participating in programming as a high school student. As a first generation Dominican, born and raised in Lawrence, she went to Lawrence Public Schools and has developed a love for the City. 

 

Nicole earned her bachelor's degree in Architecture Design from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2021. Since graduating, she has been teaching various forms of design as well as entrepreneurial skills for artists within the Merrimack Valley community with the goal of inspiring youth to use art making not only as an outlet for creativity but to make change. Her personal work celebrates femininity, healing, and underrepresented communities and is inspired by her City and island, drawing on its colors and textures.
