what is education?

‘What is Education? is a youth-driven campaign started over four years ago through Elevated Thought and their contract with the Mayor’s Health Task Force to coordinate the Lawrence Youth Council. During the collective efforts of the youth collecting surveys, engaging their peers on the topic of Education, and creating various art media that bring to life their vision of a progressive education system for Lawrence, ET is helping to reshape the vision of schooling in their city. In May of 2017, the group traveled to the Department of Education in Washington D.C. to present their findings, youth bill of rights, and vision of a revamped education system through various art mediums. They followed that by showing their work and creations locally with their second short film focused on education and mural unveiling in collaboration with Elevated Thought artists at the Lawrence Public Library.
