A Collaborative Art Project: Theater of the Oppressed

Updated: Aug 26, 2019

This fall we're collaborating with the Roger's Center for the Arts for a project that will explore the real problems encountered by young people who have experienced homelessness or who are currently homeless.

Theater of the Oppressed is a blanket term for a variety of theater games, performance styles, and ideas where the art form is utilized in order to “practice” the possibilities for change. The idea is to provide youth the space and opportunity to make their stories known and the chance to “rehearse” possible actions that might create positive social change.

Content and schedule will be decided by the youth themselves and professional staff will be there to guide the process and teach the techniques.
